about
us

Go Dog Toronto provides dog walking and visiting services for downtown Toronto's west end. With more than 15 years walking the west side, we treat your dog like one of our own and subscribe to positive reinforcement training. If you have a puppy, senior or dog with special needs, we can accommodate those that need to go out more often and require a little extra care.

We offer private and small group walks with no more than three dogs at a time. We want to maximize your pup's freedom, exercise time and attention. With 'pupdates' after every visit, you never have to worry about your pet's safety or well-being, or our reliability.

Go Dog is fully bonded and insured. Your dog, keys, property and more are covered by our insurance policy.

Services
  • Are you available weekends/evenings
Yes, we offer weekend and evening walks, and holidays too!
  • Are you available on short notice
We generally have someone available until 6pm each day. We do our best to accommodate all same day and last minute requests.
  • What do you mean by private or semi-private walks
We offer solo walks or walks with another dog or two, depending on their proximity and compatibility. We don't walk packs or groups larger than three.
  • Will I have to give you a key
It depends. Unless you have a front desk in your building that is willing to hold a key and grant us access, we will have to keep a copy of your key. Keys are kept secure and they will never be labeled with your address. Otherwise, clients can use a lockbox.
  • Can you feed my dog or give them medication
Absolutely! As long as it's as simple as putting some food out after the walk, we don't mind feeding your dog at no additional charge. We will also make sure they have water when they come home. We've also given pills in pill pockets and applied drops for those who need a little extra TLC.
  • What is the window for walks
We try to give everyone a set time in order to maintain the same schedule every day. However, there are days where we may have more or fewer walks than usual. Generally we give ourselves an hour window to complete a walk. For example, if your walk time is set for 12:30 we may come as early as noon and as late as 1:00. For puppies and seniors, we try to keep the window to 30 minutes, meaning if we are scheduled for 12:30 we will arrive between 12:15 - 12:45.
  • What do you do if it rains
We get wet! We walk rain or shine. Our clients tell us where we can find a towel on rainy days and we will dry off your dog as much as we can. We also walk on very hot and cold days, but take care not to stress your pup. If there is a weather advisory, we do shorter 'efficiency' walks where your pup can stretch their legs and go to the bathroom. We love outerwear and will gladly suit up your pup in whatever helps them handle the elements, including boots and balm to protect their paws from salt in the winter.
  • Do you let the dogs interact with other dogs while walking
If your dog is friendly and the approaching dog is friendly then we will let them sniff each other. Generally we will walk in between your dog and oncoming pups. Your dog is never off-leash.
  • Do you go to dog parks
We visit local parks, but as a rule we avoid off-leash areas and off-leash dogs.
  • How do I get started
You can text or send us an email at godogtoronto@gmail.com with details regarding your dog and your approximate location. We will get back to you to set up a time to meet with you and your dog (no charge or obligation).
